Our resort-style community features 300 Independent Living residences, a 33-bed Skilled Nursing Unit, a 40-bed Assisted Living Unit, and a 34-bed Memory Support Unit. We are looking for a skilled Line Cook to join our team in providing exceptional dining experiences for our residents. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior living settings (such as long-term care, assisted living, or memory care) and a genuine passion for serving older adults. This role involves preparing meals according to approved menus and recipes under the direction of the Executive Sous Chef and culinary leadership, while adhering to all applicable federal and state regulations. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare and cook meals following approved menus and recipes. Ensure meals are served at proper temperatures and meet portion, presentation, and taste standards. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation at all times. Adhere to sanitation and food safety regulations (local, state, and federal). Collaborate with the Executive Sous Chef and culinary leadership on menu execution, dietary needs, and special diets. Assist in cleaning kitchen equipment, cooking areas, and other food service facilities. Attend in-service training and staff meetings as required. Perform other kitchen-related duties as assigned. Requirements REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Culinary degree or equivalent work experience preferred. Current Food Handler’s Certification required; ServSafe Certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in healthcare, long-term care, or a related high-volume, high-end food service environment. Strong knowledge of institutional food service practices, including food planning, preparation, cooking, storage, and sanitation. Basic understanding of nutrition, dietary requirements, food safety, and sanitation practices. Committed to upholding residents’ rights and maintaining confidentiality of health information. Team player with flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Excellent time management, organization, and customer service skills. A heartfelt passion for making a positive difference in the lives of older adults within a supportive CCRC community. Must possess the physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform a wide range of physical activities, including sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, reaching, turning, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, reaching overhead, pushing/pulling, and grasping with both hands.
