Are you a passionate cook looking to grow your career in a welcoming, family-run Italian restaurant?
Our client, a well-established Italian restaurant in North York, is seeking two experienced Line Cooks to join their kitchen team. This is a great opportunity for culinary professionals who take pride in their craft, enjoy working with authentic Italian ingredients, and want to be part of a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Full-time, 40 hours per week
Position Overview
As a Line Cook, you will play an important role in maintaining the quality, consistency, and efficiency of the kitchen. You will work closely with the Head Chef and fellow kitchen staff to prepare authentic Italian dishes, support daily specials, and ensure food safety standards are consistently met.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years of line cook experience, be dependable, punctual, and comfortable working independently while also collaborating with a team. A passion for Italian cuisine — and knowledge of Italian cooking terminology — is a strong asset.

Key Accountabilities

  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety protocols
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries in an organized manner

  • Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service

Role Requirements

  • This is an on-site position at the restaurant’s North York location
  • Full-time availability (40 hours per week), with flexibility for evenings and weekends as required
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs as part of daily kitchen operations

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of line cook experience in a restaurant setting (Italian cuisine preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques
  • Culinary diploma or equivalent experience is considered an asset
  • Valid Food Handler certification (or equivalent) required
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to handle a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting
  • Conversational English is required; knowledge of Italian language is considered a plus
