Job Summary: A Line Cook is in charge of preparing and cooking food as well as setting up other necessary supplies. They make sure everything has been set up correctly before starting work. Cook food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards. Follow all safety and health regulations. Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies. Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff. Answer, report, and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions. Clean up the station and take care of leftover food. Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion. Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards. Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests. Dedicated to upholding our standards of excellence and hospitality. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic understanding of or ability to learn sanitation and regulations for workplace safety. Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures. Must be able to work well as part of a team. Must be able to work well under pressure. Ability to maintain personal cleanliness. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Education and Experience: Hold a Food Handler's Card, or the ability to obtain one. High school or equivalent (Preferred) Cooking: 2 years (Preferred) Restaurant Experience: 2 years (Preferred) Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods walking or standing. Must be able to lift, carry, and place up to 50 pounds at a time. Must be able to work: 8 hours shifts, days, nights, weekends, overtime, and/or holidays as needed. Must be able to bend and stoop frequently. Must be able to work in a hot environment. Schedule: Day Shift Night Shift Weekdays Weekends Holidays Overtime Up to 8-hour shifts
