About the Role
As a Line Cook Level 2/3, you will play a crucial role in the heart of our kitchen, contributing to the consistent quality and timely execution of our culinary offerings. You’ll work closely with our Executive Chef and Chef De Cuisine, taking ownership of a station and ensuring that every dish meets our high standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Precise preparation and cooking of menu items across various stations (e.g., grill, sauté, fry), adhering to established recipes and plating standards.
· Executing dishes with consistency and finesse, paying close attention to timing, temperature, and presentation.
· Maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout service, following strict food safety guidelines.
· Working collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth workflow, efficient communication, and seamless service.
· Assisting with inventory management, including receiving, storing, and rotating ingredients to minimize waste.
· Demonstrating a strong understanding of food allergens and dietary restrictions, ensuring guest safety and satisfaction.
· Contributing to a positive and respectful kitchen culture, embodying teamwork and professionalism.
Qualifications and Skills
· Level 2: Minimum 5 years of experience as a Line Cook in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment, showcasing strong foundational cooking skills and the ability to work independently on a station.
· Level 3: Minimum 10 years of experience as a Line Cook, demonstrating advanced culinary techniques, station leadership, and a proven track record of maintaining high-quality standards.
· Strong culinary fundamentals, including expertise in various cooking methods (e.g., grilling, roasting, sautéing) and precise knife skills.
· Excellent time management and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
· Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (e.g., HACCP).
· Ability to read and execute recipes accurately and consistently.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
· Physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
· Relevant certifications (e.g., Food Handler’s Permit) are required.
