Description The Line Cook is a hands-on culinary team member responsible for supporting daily kitchen operations at Lovell Arena in Rockland, MA. Working under the direction of the Chef and alongside established cooks, this position ensures all food is prepared, cooked, and presented to the highest standards of quality, taste, and safety. This role works the line during service and plays a key part in maintaining efficient kitchen workflow and consistent execution during events. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and adaptable—capable of handling last-minute changes while maintaining professionalism in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. Responsibilities Work the line during service periods, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely food preparation. Assist with all aspects of kitchen operations, including prep, cooking, plating, and service coordination. Collaborate with the kitchen team to maintain efficient workflow and consistent execution. Execute daily menu items and event service needs, adapting quickly to changes in volume and scheduling. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment that meets all sanitation and food safety standards. Follow standardized recipes, portion controls, and plating specifications as directed. Communicate ingredient and supply needs to kitchen leadership. Ensure proper food rotation, labeling, and storage to minimize waste and maintain freshness. Support service timelines and contribute to meeting customer expectations. Adapt to scheduling changes as needed to maintain operational efficiency. Promote teamwork, professionalism, and a positive kitchen culture. Attend mandatory kitchen meetings and participate in training sessions as required. Requirements Proven experience as a Line Cook or similar role in a professional kitchen environment. ServSafe Food Handler and Allergen certifications (or willingness to obtain). Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and kitchen organization. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume setting. Strong communication, organization, and time management skills. Ability to remain calm and perform effectively under pressure. Flexibility and adaptability to changing schedules and operational demands. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding kitchen tasks. Must be available to work evenings and weekends as part of regular scheduling requirements. Flexible availability required due to the dynamic, event-driven operations at Lovell Arena.
