Job Title: Prep/Line Cook at Sheldrake Point Winery

Position Type: Part-Time

Our tasting room provides a warm and inviting atmosphere for guests to experience the best of food, wine, and scenic views. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Prep/Line Cook to join our culinary team.
Position Overview: As a Prep/Line Cook at Sheldrake Point Winery, you will work closely with our Executive Chef to prepare and execute high-quality dishes for our tasting room guests. The ideal candidate will have experience in both prep and line cooking, as well as a passion for fresh, seasonal ingredients. You’ll play an integral role in providing an unforgettable dining experience that complements the wines we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist with prepping ingredients for daily service, ensuring all items are fresh and ready for cooking.
· Cook and plate dishes to order, adhering to recipes and presentation standards.
· Work the line during busy service times, maintaining efficiency and quality.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring all health and safety standards are met.
· Assist with inventory management, including receiving and storing deliveries.
· Collaborate with the kitchen team to create seasonal specials that pair well with our wines.
· Help with menu changes and adapt to guest preferences or dietary restrictions.
· Ensure proper storage of all food products, following health regulations.
· Contribute to a positive team environment, maintaining open communication with front-of-house staff and management.
Qualifications:
· 1+ years of experience in a kitchen environment (prep or line cook).
· Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, staying organized and calm under pressure.
· Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
· Strong attention to detail and a passion for quality food.
· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
