Description Located on the beautiful shores of Lake Lure, Rumbling Bald is a private community offering exceptional dining experiences to members and guests. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen and take pride in preparing great food, we’d love to hear from you! You’ll support daily food prep and line service with a focus on flavor, consistency, and presentation—helping ensure every dish looks great and tastes even better. This is a part-time position averaging about 29 hours per week. Candidates must be available to work morning, afternoon, and evening shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Essential duties Prep ingredients and assist with daily kitchen setup Cook and plate menu items to recipe and quality standards Keep your station clean, organized, and stocked Follow food safety and sanitation procedures Work with the team to keep service running smoothly during busy times Support the dish area (washing dishes, pots, and pans) during peak service times or when coverage is needed Requirements 2+ years prep or line cook experience preferred (hotel/resort or similar a plus) Food handling certification preferred — or good working knowledge of food safety Dependable, team-oriented, and able to stay calm under pressure Flexible schedule and willingness to work holidays Physical requirements Comfortable working in a hot kitchen (stoves, ovens, grills, fryers) Good hand dexterity for chopping, slicing, and using kitchen tools safely Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs Able to bend, twist, reach overhead and below the knees, and stand for long periods May be required to drive a vehicle as part of duties
