JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and cooking, with experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role involves preparing high-quality meals, assisting with menu planning, and ensuring food safety standards are met. REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred
  • Strong background in fine dining or restaurant environments is highly desirable
  • Proven skills in food preparation, cooking, and meal preparation techniques
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the food industry
  • Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Experience with catering services is a plus

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
  • Assist in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for new dishes
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food storage
  • Ensure all food handling and safety procedures are followed to maintain a safe working environment
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, demonstrating strong knife skills
  • Support catering events as needed, preparing meals for larger groups
  • Assist in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols
