Verdicchio Ristorante | Enoteca and Natura Events is hiring a prep cook/line cook who shares our commitment to modern Italian cuisine, sustainable food practices and the ‘eat local’ movement.
Since 1994 we have managed to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to the evolution of the local restaurant industry; we offered wine tutorials, promoted local producers and incorporated local ingredients long before it was trendy to do so. We are proud of our food and we are looking for someone who is both passionate and serious about the culinary arts.
Summary of position:
Prepare and cook antipasti, pasta, soup, meat, fish, seafood and vegetables. Perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all menu item plates.

Qualifications:

• Between one to two years experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
• Culinary diploma an asset
• Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills
• At least six months experience in similar capacity
• Ability to work efficiently and under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Be a team player
• Possess exceptional taste and smell
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds
• Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
• Perform well consistently
• Knowledge about different cooking methods
• Knowledge of Italian cuisine and ingredients
• Eager to work evenings and weekends

25-30 hrs/week
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.20 per hour

Licence/Certification:

• Food Handler Certification (preferred)
