QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Culinary school or relevant cooking certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
  • Valid Food Handler Certificate.
  • Up to 2 years of previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, or in a similar kitchen role.
Responsibilities

LINE COOK ROLE SUMMARY:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Line Cook to join our culinary team. The Line Cook is essential to delivering an exceptional dining experience by ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and consistency. This role involves setting up and maintaining workstations, preparing food according to SmoQue N Bones’ standards, and collaborating with the kitchen team to deliver a seamless service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up and fully stock workstations with all necessary supplies for service.
  • Master each station’s procedures to time food preparation steps accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare and cook food items according to SmoQue N Bones’ recipes and quality standards.
  • Monitor and replenish ingredients to ensure a consistent flow during service.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to cook menu items and support other stations as needed.
  • Follow instructions from the sous chef and executive chef, promptly reporting any issues.
  • Maintain workstation cleanliness and address leftover food or inventory properly.
  • Organize and label all ingredients on shelves for quick and easy access.
  • Accurately measure ingredients and seasonings for preparation.
  • Wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, and dispose of trash to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen.
  • Adhere to prep lists created by line cooks, sous chefs, and executive chefs.
  • Conduct prep list counts and assist in the preparation of a comprehensive prep list.
  • Participate in ordering, receiving, and inventory management processes.
  • Work the line efficiently, handling each station according to the SmoQue N Bones standard.
  • Follow nutrition, sanitation, and safety regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Foster a positive team spirit and demonstrate a professional approach with colleagues and customers.
