QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1+ years of experience as a prep or line cook in a high-volume, upscale restaurant or similar setting is preferred.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on contributing to a positive kitchen environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare ingredients and complete mise en place to ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.
  • Execute cooking techniques and prepare dishes according to State & Main’s recipes and standards.
  • Time the steps in each dish and understand the cooking requirements to ensure precise execution and consistency.
  • Be knowledgeable about menu items, menu changes, and food preparation procedures to guarantee a remarkably consistent guest experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including proper storage and handling of food items.
  • Monitor and manage food quality, presentation, and portion control to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Assist with inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and tracking supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food preparation and service.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation and hygiene practices.
  • Support the Kitchen Manager and Sous Chefs with daily tasks, including prep work, cooking, and clean-up.
