The Captain’s Boil Vaughan is currently hiring prep cooks for the back of the house. Must have 1-year of experience working in the kitchen, be able to work in a very busy back of the house. Have knowledge of food preparation, have a Food Handler certification and be knowledgeable about food safety. Must be available for day/evening and to work weekends. Must be a team player and be able to follow directions.

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food service industry and a strong understanding of meal preparation, food safety, and kitchen operations. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality dishes to our guests while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment.
  • Assist with inventory management, including receiving and storing food supplies.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
  • Monitor food quality throughout the cooking process to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Help train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety practices.
  • Participate in menu planning and development as needed.
