Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity Downer’s Energy & Utilities team is seeking a Line Mechanic (Faults) to join our Valley region crew, supporting network fault response and restoration. Working alongside a Team Lead, you’ll be out in the field responding to faults, restoring power, and helping keep the network running. This is a great role for someone who likes variety, problem-solving, and being part of a strong crew. Based in Matamata, your day-to-day will include: * Responding to overhead and underground network faults across the region * Locating issues and helping restore power safely * Carrying out switching under direction * Completing repairs on lines, poles, and equipment * Supporting your Team Lead and crew on-site * Keeping job records and basic reporting up to date * Taking part in on-call and storm response when required This is a full-time, permanent role with consistent work and great earning potential with our overtime faults rostering.
