Someone who understands the rhythm of live TV and knows how to keep the show moving with precision and energy.This Line Producer position supports multiple shows across the NBC News NOW platform, from breaking news blocks to signature daily programming. You’ll be part of a dynamic team that works across formats and dayparts, so flexibility, speed, and teamwork are key.Responsibilities:Work closely with senior producers and executive producers to build, refine, and execute daily rundowns across several NBC News NOW showsLead the control room during live broadcasts — making quick editorial decisions and adjusting rundowns as breaking news developsCollaborate with show directors to block and time live programmingApprove and copy edit scripts with an eye for tone, accuracy, and editorial standardsPitch compelling news stories and fresh, original segment ideasWork with producers to identify the strongest elements for every block, from video and graphics to sound and live guestsWrite headlines, teases, and scroll graphics that drive viewer engagementGenerate fresh copy in real time when news is moving fastCommunicate effectively with talent, guests, and correspondentsMove seamlessly between shows and teams — and embrace a fast-paced, always-changing news cycleQualifications5+ years of experience working in broadcast, cable, or live-streaming newsMinimum 3 years on a live, daily showAt least 1 year as a line producer, ideally with breaking news experienceStrong editorial judgment and deep understanding of journalistic standardsBachelor’s degree or equivalent experienceWilling and able to work in person five days a week in New York, NYDesired Characteristics:Strong journalist with excellent control room instinctsEditorially sharp and visually creative — you care about headlines, graphics, and clean visual storytellingEnergized by live breaking news and able to jump in anytime — nights, weekends, holidaysSteady under pressure and decisive in a fast-paced control roomEnjoys working collaboratively across multiple teams and formatsAdditional Requirements:Flexible schedule — this role includes early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends as neededRequired On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
