Schedule: rotating 8 hours, Mon-Fri, occassional weekends and OT, 40-48 hours
Work Location: 944 Highway 8, Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada

We are seeking a versatile and dependable Line Service Technician. This role supports increased production demands and vacation coverage. The successful candidate is a skilled and adaptable team member that performs critical line service duties in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

The successful candidate is a team-oriented focused individual with strong mechanical aptitude. They have a commitment to safety and quality and demonstrated skills to initiative, adaptability, and effective communication skills. You are dependable, open to change, and able to collaborate in a fast-moving environment.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Mechanical troubleshooting and equipment operation experience
  • Understanding of team dynamics and continuous improvement principles
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Availability for shift work and overtime

Responsibilities
  • Prepare production lines for shift start-up by ensuring materials are available and equipment is production-ready
  • Operate and understand the mechanical design of all packaging equipment
  • Perform and verify quality inspections (e.g., fill weights, temperatures, unit coding) to meet customer, legal, and internal standards
  • Coordinate efficient product wash-ups in collaboration with Sanitation and Production teams
  • Train and support operators to ensure effective line operation
  • Lead or participate in line reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform equipment changeovers, troubleshooting, and lubrication; assist with mechanical repairs as needed
  • Accurately document downtime and production data in SAP; use data to make real-time improvements
  • Proactively follow and promote health, safety, GMP, HACCP, and sanitation standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; contribute to the overall appearance of the manufacturing environment
  • Optimize line efficiency through adjustments and fine-tuning of equipment and processes
  • Use SAP to access production-related information and support daily operations
