JOB SUMMARY:

The Line Setter / Line Manager is responsible for setting up, operating, and managing production or packaging lines to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and product quality. This role oversees line changeovers, monitors production targets, coordinates with other departments, and ensures compliance with health and safety standards.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience as a Line Setter, Line Operator, or Line Manager in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Good mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions or production specs.
  • Basic computer skills (for reporting and machine interfaces).
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities (for Line Manager).
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, or overtime as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technical or vocational training in engineering or manufacturing.
  • Experience with specific industry equipment (e.g., FMCG, food, pharmaceutical, etc.).
  • Health and safety certification (e.g., OSHA, HACCP).

Responsibilities
  • Line Setup & Changeovers:
  • Prepare and set up machines and equipment for daily production.
  • Carry out line changeovers efficiently with minimal downtime.
  • Adjust machine settings to meet product specifications.
  • Production Monitoring:
  • Supervise daily operations of the production/packing line.
  • Monitor and maintain output levels to meet production targets.
  • Identify and resolve issues affecting line performance.
  • Team Leadership (if Line Manager role):
  • Lead, motivate, and supervise line operatives.
  • Assign tasks and ensure proper staffing on the line.
  • Conduct on-the-job training for new or existing team members.
  • Quality & Compliance:
  • Conduct quality checks in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Report any defects or non-conformances immediately.
  • Ensure the production environment meets hygiene, safety, and quality standards.
  • Maintenance Support:
  • Carry out basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Report breakdowns or equipment faults to maintenance team promptly.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate production and downtime records.
  • Complete shift reports and handovers.
