Northeast Missouri Electric Power Cooperative (Northeast Power) has an opening for a Lineman Intern at the Palmyra, Missouri, location. Northeast Power is a transmission cooperative delivering power to northeast Missouri and southeast Iowa. This is a paid summer internship starting in May 2026 and ending in August 2026. The standard work schedule follows a 4-day, 10-hour shift, Monday through Thursday. Some flexibility in workdays and hours may be required based on project needs and assignments. What You Will Do: This position provides hands-on experience working alongside transmission line crews and offers an opportunity to learn fundamental field skills in a safety-focused environment. Under supervision, you will support maintenance and construction activities essential to reliable transmission operations. In addition, you will: • Assist with transmission line maintenance activities. • Support substation maintenance tasks as assigned. • Assist with transmission line construction projects. • Help with right-of-way trimming and vegetation management. • Climb wooden poles under supervision and assist with line maintenance work. • Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and organized manner. What We Are Looking For: We are seeking an individual who is motivated, safety-conscious, and willing to work in outdoor and physically demanding environments. Ideally, you are currently pursuing a degree or certification related to electrical power technology, linework, or a closely related field. In addition, we are looking for: • Strong attention to safety and adherence to established procedures. • Ability to work effectively as part of a field crew. • Willingness to learn climbing techniques and work at heights. • Dependability, clear communication and a strong work ethic. • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
