Salary Range : $7,000-$9,500
Job Description
System Management:
1. Install, configure, and maintain Redhat Linux operating systems and servers. Ensure systems are up to date with the latest patches and updates.
Upgrade Planning:
1. Develop comprehensive plans for upgrading Red Hat Linux systems, including assessing current environments
2. Determining upgrade paths
3. Identifying potential risks and mitigation strategies.
System Upgrades:
1. Perform Red Hat Linux upgrades, ensuring compatibility with existing applications and minimal disruption to services.
2. Conduct pre-upgrade tests and post-upgrade validations to ensure system stability and performance.
Performance Monitoring:
1. Monitor system performance to ensure efficient operations.
2. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
Security:
1. Implement and manage security measures to protect systems and data. This includes managing firewalls, configuring security policies
2. Monitoring system access.
Backup and Recovery:
1. Develop and maintain a robust backup and recovery strategy.
2. Perform regular backups and test recoveries to ensure data integrity.
Network Services:
1. Manage and configure network services related to Unix systems, such as SSH, SFTP, and DNS.
Scripting and Automation:
1. Write scripts (shell, python, ansible etc.) to automate routine system administration tasks, improving efficiency and reducing manual intervention.
Troubleshooting:
1. Serve as a key point of contact for system-related issues.
2. Diagnose and troubleshoot Unix system problems, working to resolve issues in a timely manner.
Documentation:
1. Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes.
2. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the IT team on projects and initiatives.
3. Provide support and guidance to other team members as needed.
