Description
SAIC is seeking a Linux System Administrator for on-site to support the Advanced Scientific and Engineering Computer Center in Kingston, RI.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have the ability to obtain a SECRET level clearance.
- Experience and/or familiarity with some of the following:
- Experience with scripting languages and automation techniques including Bash and Python.
- Experience with job scheduling systems, PBS experience a plus.
- Familiarity with licensing managers such as FlexLM and LMX.
- Experience implementing and supporting Red Hat or similar distributions of Linux.
- Experience working in a high performance computer facility with demonstrated ability to manage. operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and test complex computer hardware and software systems.
- IAT II level certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or Network+ CE and Linux certification) or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing day-to-day operational and maintenance support of the ASECC at Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT).
- Performs various system administration duties in a large Windows and Linux environment.
- Assists in implementing, supporting, and troubleshooting Linux issues relating to performance and compliance and security hardening.
