Piper Companies is searching for a Linux System Engineer to work for a leader in the technology space. The Linux System Engineer supports mission-critical systems and requires a strong background in enterprise Linux environments, virtualization, and cybersecurity compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE LINUX SYSTEM ENGINEER INCLUDE:

• Must be eligible to hold an active TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools
• Strong understanding of networking concepts
• Familiarity with Splunk for system monitoring and log analysis

• Administer and maintain Enterprise Linux systems (preferably RHEL)
• Develop and maintain scripts for automation and system management
• Build, configure, and manage virtual servers
• Support and troubleshoot Docker/Kubernetes environments
• Assist with networking tasks including switching, subnets, VLANs, and storage
• Monitor and analyze system logs using Splunk
• Implement and maintain NIST 800-53 security controls
• Ensure systems meet DoD cybersecurity compliance standards
