JOB DESCRIPTION:

Serve as a Systems Engineer supporting a government customer
​Deliver engineering services for network and enterprise computing infrastructure

Perform system engineering and software development in multiple environments:

• e.g., Linux, Red Hat, CentOS and Rocky OS

Analyze business applications and design specifications for functional activities
Prepare required documentation (program-level and user-level)
Assist in establishing standards for information systems procedures
Support customer development and maintenance of systems baseline
Assess server loads and work with leads to develop tuning recommendations
Complete day-to-day Operations & Maintenance tasks
Perform operating system software updates, upgrades and patches

Provide support for the following:

• End-point devices, data center hosted servers, multi-Cloud services
• Virtualized applications and Storage systems

Provide services for modern application technology, including:

• Containerized solutions with orchestrated workflows on prem/in the cloud

Provide core infrastructure, voice and video engineering, and field engineering

Provide application management and development for:

• Networks, network analytics, and firewalls
• Network access controls and bandwidth service delivery

QUALIFICATIONS:

BS in Computer Engineering or related
11+ years of Systems Engineering experience

Background utilizing the following:

• Linux, Red Hat, and its derivatives (CentOS, RHEL, RockyOS)

Experience in shell (BASH) scripting and manipulating the Linux command line
Experience providing Linux Administration (O&M) support
Experience providing Linux Engineering and Infrastructure support
Experience with the following languages: Python and Bash
Experience with AWS, CloudFormation, Google Cloud and MS Azure

Experience with configuration management software

• e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, CloudFormation

Experience with cloud computing, including PaaS, IaaS and SaaS
Experience with CaaS (e.g., Kubernetes and OpenShift)
