This position will report to our EnerSys Energy Systems business, which serves the telecom, cable broadband, industrial, renewable, and data center markets. QUALIFICATIONS
JOB PURPOSE
As an Associate Manufacturing Engineer at our Lithium Gigafactory, you will play a key role in the research, design, and development of lithium-ion cells, working closely with cross-functional teams to enhance cell performance, safety, and cost efficiency. This is an entry-level position ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional with a background in engineering and a passion for advancing energy storage technology.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Research and Development:
Conduct research to identify and test new materials, technologies, and processes aimed at improving lithium-ion cell performance and manufacturing efficiency.
Assist in the development of innovative approaches to cell design using modeling and simulation tools.
Testing and Evaluation:
Support the design and development of lithium-ion cells, including electro-chemical composition, architecture, and performance evaluations.
Provide technical input on cell components and ensure designs meet performance and safety requirements.
Collaboration:
Work closely with chemists, materials engineers, mechanical engineers, and other team members to ensure successful cell development and optimization.
Collaborate with product development, manufacturing, and testing departments to refine and optimize lithium-ion cell manufacturing processes.
Documentation and Reporting:
Assist in preparing technical reports, design specifications, drawings, and test plans to document research, development, and testing activities.
Quality Assurance:
Support the development and implementation of quality control measures to ensure lithium-ion cells meet industry standards and internal performance metrics.
Work with the quality assurance team to identify and resolve any production or performance issues.
Continuous Improvement:
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product reliability, performance, and manufacturing processes.
