Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The successful candidate will join the firm’s dynamic Litigation team in Exeter, supporting lawyers with property disputes, contractual matters, employment issues, and commercial litigation. This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal seeking to develop their skills in a varied and challenging environment.

LITIGATION PARALEGAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support case progression under guidance across a range of dispute categories
  • Maintain regular client contact through various communication channels, collecting necessary information and delivering status reports
  • Record comprehensive client instructions received via telephone
  • Identify and liaise with appropriate expert witnesses and legal professionals, scheduling necessary appointments and discussions
  • Assemble relevant documentation packages for briefs and expert consultations
  • Respond to inquiries from legal specialists and expert witnesses as needed
  • Compose standard legal correspondence and prepare routine documentation
  • Facilitate communication with third parties including opposing solicitors, judicial offices, and insurance providers
  • Create and maintain organised document collections for alternative dispute resolution, evidence exchange, and court proceedings
  • Resolve financial inquiries from clients, facilitate payments to barristers and courts, and process related transactions
  • Contribute to client invoicing processes and explanatory fee narratives
  • Use digital dictation software to produce various legal documents
