We are looking for a skilled litigation paralegal to be the backbone of our trial team. You will be responsible for the coordination of all the details before, during and after trial. The successful candidate will be able to provide assistance during all phases of the litigation process including conducting interviews, legal research, document filing and attending trials.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, Pleadings, and Motions
  • Experience in Document Review and Legal Research
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
  • Previous experience in personal injury law is a plus
  • Associate’s degree or paralegal certification required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Draft pleadings, motions and appellate documents and file them with the court
  • Review and assimilate medical records and answer discovery requests pertaining to them
  • Answer written discovery requests and organize documents with bates labeling
  • Assist clients and attorneys answering discovery
  • Drafting discovery to opposing parties
  • Drafting subpoenas to be served on third parties
  • Reviewing discovery answers for completeness
  • Setting depositions
  • Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics, etc)
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
  • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices
  • Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests
  • Gather relevant information from a variety of sources
  • Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties
  • Help with voir dire, jury selection and witnesses preparation
  • Provide assistance with case settlements

SKILLS

  • Must be very familiar with PACER and CM/ECF federal court efiling as well as state Court filings.
  • Proven working experience as a litigation paralegal
  • Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, practices etc
  • Highly organized with ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail
  • Extensive computer and database expertise
  • Paralegal associates degree or other relevant certification

REMOTE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Will be required to be logged into Microsoft Teams during each work day
  • You must have a reliable and stable internet connection with at least 50Mb/s download and 10Mb/s upload
  • You will be provided with a work computer that cannot be utilized for any other purpose than firm work, that will be monitored.
  • You must agree to use your cellular phone to make and receive phone calls if and when necessary
  • You cannot have third parties in the same room as your home office during work hours
  • You cannot be in charge of watching any minor children during work hours

Responsibilities

This is a full-time and the candidate can pick to work either in our Richmond Heights, Missouri office or fully remote. The Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal will be responsible for preparing legal documents, reviewing documents, conducting legal research, and drafting pleadings and motions. Daily tasks include organizing case files, maintaining client communication, and providing support to attorneys during all phases of the litigation process.
