ABOUT US Strides Toronto is a multi-service agency providing a wide range of exceptional programs and services that improve the mental, social and physical health of infants, children and youth from the pre-natal stage to age 29, and their families. With a range of community, live-in and treatment services, we build strength and resilience through equitable, accessible, client-driven services, system leadership and advocacy. We provide individual, group and family interventions that include mental health counselling, autism services, education, outreach and referral, early intervention, day treatment and community support. In its Lead Agency role, Strides Toronto collaborates with 24 publicly funded infant, child and youth mental health (ICYMH) core service providers to design and implement system-level improvements that promote access, responsive service delivery and experience, and positive mental health outcomes for young people and families across Toronto's diverse communities. To learn more about who we are and what we do, we invite you to visit our website at www.stridestoronto.ca [http://www.stridestoronto.ca] ABOUT THE ROLE The Live-In Treatment Child and Youth Practitioner is a full-time contract position that facilitates and delivers assessments, therapeutic treatment/ programming, discharge planning and aftercare for children and youth in a live-in treatment program environment, where supervision, support and care of children and youth is provided 24 hours/day, 365 days/year. Salary range:  $58,001 to $67,543 per annum  This position is represented by OPSEU local 567. There are two (2) full-time contract positions available: one until February 2026, and one until June 2026. WHAT YOU WILL DO * Provide care and supervision that supports the health and wellbeing of each client within the residential environment and in their daily functioning.   Each full-time staff may be assigned to a client as a primary care provider and take the lead for care and therapeutic needs. * Provide support and treatment that is evidence-informed and in-line with goals and objectives and support clients mental health and wellbeing within the live-in environment and in their daily functioning. * Organize, attend and participate in various meetings that support client’s therapeutic programming needs and enhance communication between residence staff and multi-disciplinary teams. * Participate in the care and maintenance of a residential home and program facilities to ensure the health and safety of program participants and staff, and that meet licensing standards. * Complete the required documentation and administrative responsibilities to support the needs of the program and the clients and meet the requirements of the Ministry and Licensing bodies. THE “MUST HAVES” The following education, professional memberships and knowledge are a requirement for this role:  * CYW/ CYC Diploma, Degree. * One year of work experience in Live in Treatment setting with clients presenting with mental health concerns. * Knowledge of Crisis Management/ Intervention Models. * Knowledge of Trauma informed practice and Conflict resolution skills. * Awareness of the role of inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA) in the workplace and within the community being served by the position. * An understanding of anti-black racism, anti-oppressive/anti-racism perspective in the context of the social determinants of health. * Ability to recognize and identify situations where incidents of imbalance of power and privilege may occur and can result in possible negative impacts. THE ‘NICE TO HAVES’ While not required, preference will be given to candidates with the following: * Functional computer and client information system knowledge. * Fluency in another language(s), including sign language.
