Description
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Live Streaming Engagement Manager to lead our Douyin Engagement team. This pivotal role oversees the team’s daily operations, formulates moderation strategies, and ensures the delivery of high-quality live engagement experiences while safeguarding Apple’s brand reputation. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Host, Script and Demo Editorial, and senior management to align moderation efforts with overall livestream business objectives and foster a cohesive, efficient workflow. DESCRIPTION Responsibilities includes not limited to: Lead, manage, and develop the livestream moderation team, including recruiting, training, coaching, and conducting performance evaluations to enhance team competence and productivity. Formulate and optimize livestream moderation strategies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to adapt to platform updates, audience dynamics, and brand requirements. Oversee the creation, review, and refinement of host interaction, Q&A, and live chat response scripts—in partnership with GA/PR/Legal—to ensure accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment. Monitor real-time livestream moderation performance, proactively identify potential risks, bottlenecks, or inappropriate content trends, and implement timely corrective actions and contingency plans. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Production, Host, Script & Demo Editorial) to align moderation efforts and support seamless live execution. Analyze moderation data, audience feedback, and livestream performance metrics to derive actionable insights, drive continuous improvement of moderation processes and team efficiency. Manage the optimization of the keyword blocklist, staying abreast of industry trends, hot topics, and platform policies to enhance proactive content filtering capabilities. Serve as the primary point of contact for senior management on moderation matters, providing regular reports on performance, key issues, and strategic recommendations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of progressive experience in team management, preferably in livestream moderation, social media content moderation, or a related field. Proven track record of developing and implementing effective content moderation strategies in a fast-paced live environment. Excellent leadership, coaching, and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team to achieve performance goals. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of leveraging data to drive process improvements and risk mitigation. Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to align diverse teams around common objectives. Demonstrated judgment and calm demeanor in high-pressure situations, with a strong commitment to brand protection and customer experience. Proficiency in written and verbal Mandarin and English. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS BS/BA in related field or equivalent experience. Deep expertise in Douyin and other major Chinese livestream platforms, with a thorough understanding of their policies, audience dynamics, and industry trends. Familiarity with Apple’s brand values and experience in brand protection within a digital or livestream context. Experience in developing training programs and performance evaluation frameworks for content moderation teams. Knowledge of Chinese cultural trends and consumer behavior to better tailor moderation strategies.
