The team works closely with community members to reduce drug-related harm and improve access to health and social supports. About the role The Lived Experience Peer Worker – ACE provides community-based peer engagement, advocacy and harm reduction support across NRCH grounds and within MSIR. This role is available up to 0.8 FTE, structured as: • 0.4 FTE ongoing • 0.4 FTE fixed term until June 2026 Applicants may apply for part or full allocation depending on preference. In this role you will: • Build trusted relationships with community members across NRCH grounds and nearby housing environments and provide short term case management • Support safer use practices and overdose prevention through peer engagement • Assist clients to navigate housing, income support and health systems • Facilitate client voice through advisory groups and peer-led forums • Contribute to peer-led initiatives, workshops and community activities • Provide and coordinate referrals to internal and external services • Promote harm reduction and reduce barriers to service access About you You bring lived or living experience of alcohol and other drug use and are confident using this safely within a professional peer role. You will also demonstrate: • A thorough understanding of case work and case management and a commitment to harm reduction principles • Experience working with people experiencing trauma and complex disadvantage • Ability to build trust in community environments • Confidence supporting systems navigation and advocacy • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills • A collaborative and values-driven approach Why join us?
