Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern is over 5 days Monday-Friday 0830-1630 (37 hours per week).
An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join the south sector liver nurse team. You will assess, manage and treat patients with liver disease. You will be responsible for running your own nurse clinics independently. This post involves assessing new patient referrals, reviewing patients recently discharged from hospital and managing patients with cirrhosis. You will also oversee patients undergoing treatment for Hepatitis C and B.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic nurse who will be able to manage their own workload. You will require excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and will deliver care in a busy environment. This post also involves teaching students and other staff members.
You will join an established team. We have twice weekly MDTs with input from consultant hepatologists and pharmacy colleagues. You will primarily be based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and Victoria Ambulatory Care Hospital but you may be required to work at Gartnavel General hospital as required. Full induction will be provided by the liver nurse team and consultant hepatologists.
