ProAg has an exciting opportunity for a Livestock Claims Specialist to join our team. You will deliver world-class customer service in managing the end-to-end processing and timely payment of all Livestock claims. You will audit and process claims, checking for accuracy and completeness. Bring your passion for innovation and collaboration to ProAg to help serve our farmers, agents, and re-insurers.
Reporting to the Livestock Claims Processing Supervisor, you will expedite the processing and payment of all claims. You must thrive in a collaborative environment where you will work closely with other departments including Underwriting, Accounting, and Compliance, and be a resource for them.
This position will report to ProAg’s West Des Moines, Iowa office.

In This Exciting Opportunity You Will:

• Subject matter expert for the end-to-end Livestock claims process including claim adjusting, processing, verification, and payment activities.
• Exercise a high degree of reliability and independent judgment in the handling of the most complex, non-routine claims and escalating them to the Livestock Claims Supervisor.
• Effectively manage and prioritize claim workload to ensure timely resolution.
• Communicate clearly and promptly, with the Supervisor and Agent level to support accurate and efficient claims handling.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external contacts to facilitate the livestock claims process, promote business development, and remain abreast of industry trends and legislative changes.
• Monitor livestock claims through auditing, data entry, verification, and identification of discrepancies to ensure accuracy and timeliness of payment.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Compliance, and accounting departments to resolve errors and clear errors for payment.
• Ensure compliance with organization policies, procedures, software applications and government regulations.

What You’ll Bring:

• Two years of relevant and progressive professional experience, strong livestock and crop insurance background preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality.
• Sound analytical skills with attention to detail, as well as problem-solving aptitude.
• Ability to apply basic knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures.
• Effectively and efficiently multi-task, set and shift priorities, and adapt to change.
• Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential material strictly in accordance with company policy, Risk Management Agency (RMA) guidelines, etc.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word).
