Responsibilities

The Loader Operator/Yard Worker’s main duties are to feed the concrete plant with aggregate and stockpiling material. Other duties include loading and unloading palletized and non-palletized stock, maintaining the yard’s cleanliness and organization, and assisting with general labor duties as required in a concrete manufacturing environment. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the efficient operation of the yard, supporting production, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate a front-end loader to transport and load raw materials such as sand, gravel, and cement into hoppers and storage bins.
  • Maintain proper stockpile management to prevent contamination and ensure accurate inventory levels.
  • Perform pre-operational inspections and routine maintenance on equipment, reporting any mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
  • Assist in general yard work, including cleaning, organizing materials, and maintaining a safe workspace.
  • Support plant operations by supplying materials as required and assisting with equipment maintenance.
  • Load and unload trucks, ensuring correct product placement and adherence to weight restrictions.
  • Follow all safety protocols and workplace procedures to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct routine equipment checks, including fluid levels, tire conditions, and overall functionality.
  • Assist in minor repairs and adjustments to machinery as necessary.
  • Support production teams in batching, mixing, or transporting concrete as needed.
