Description
The Loader Operator is responsible for moving material throughout the factory and ensuring the achievement of smooth receiving, stocking, and shipping. Essential Functions * Direct truck drivers during loading and unloading * Operate scale, record weights and dimensions accurately * Operate packaging equipment to securely transport inbound, cross-dock, and outbound loads * Load and unload material at the standard rate of production * Inspect material handling equipment before operating, record data from the inspection * Visually differentiate between similar metals * Assist in other areas and perform other duties, as needed Qualifications and Requirements * High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required  * 1+ year(s) experience operating heavy equipment * Ability to consistently comply with PPE and safety standards while on the production premises * Pass certifications on all materials handling equipment on site * Experience working in a 24/7 production environment * Strong work ethic with a positive attitude Work Environment * The noise level is usually very loud * Regularly works near moving mechanical parts * Ability to lift up to 50lbs, several times per day * The buildings are heated during the winter, but conditions could be cold in the winter & hot during the summer * The processing areas are dirty & wet at times * Processing facilities/areas are dusty
