EDUCATION:

Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. High school diploma preferred or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

One year food & beverage and experience at a similar volume hotel. Experience in shipping and receiving preferred.

Responsibilities

POSITION PURPOSE:

To plan, & organize daily shipping and receiving operations for the hotel as well as supervise daily storeroom operations. Keeping loading dock operations clean and organized.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

40% Responsible for delivering interdepartmental mail, ship, track and receive mail for the hotel and it’s guests. Maintain proper supply levels of shipping materials. Communicate with internal departments regarding incoming packages and follow up with outgoing shipments. Assist Bell Stand with cage runs. Manage cage inventory and aging packages and returns.
20% Processing and creating shipping labels for outgoing shipments. Handles billing through Accounting for packages being sent via hotel accounts or being billed through third parties, etc.
20% Maintain, organize, clean, and provide forklift assistance to vendors on loading dock.
15% Supervise daily storeroom operations, proper storage and rotation of stock to maintain freshness and reduce waste. Supervise the issuing of products to F&B outlets. Verify quantities and quality of products. Ensures proper requisition policies and procedures are followed. Assist with order placement as needed.
5% Assist with end of the month inventory operations. Properly check in vendors by verifying items being invoiced. Making adjustments to invoices as needed.

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.

  • Performs duties of storeroom receiving clerk, receiving, filling requisitions, rotation of stock and assists in month-end inventories.
  • Performs any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products to adhere to health standards.
  • Participate in hotel/departmental meetings
