Description Texans Credit Union has an outstanding opportunity for a Loan Advisor who can provide product solutions and close sales while maintaining a high level of member service and urgency. Position Purpose and Objectives The Loan Advisor (LA) position in the centralized sales team serves as a phone liaison and sales expert with our members by being the main point of contact throughout their entire loan process. LA’s can quickly build rapport with members to discover their current and unmet needs . They use this knowledge to offer product solutions and close sales while maintaining a high level of member service and urgency. LA’s consistently multi-task, communicate effectively through written and verbal communication and exceed their goals and objectives. This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule after a 90-day training and probationary period. Major Duties and Essential Functions: Conduct comprehensive loan interviews to understand members’ full financial profiles, identify current and future needs, and provide personalized solutions. Accurately complete, document, and submit loan applications in compliance with credit union policies and regulatory requirements. Analyze credit reports to recommend appropriate products, educate members on improving creditworthiness, and identify opportunities to cross-sell additional products and services. Present and sell ancillary products (GAP, extended warranty, payment protection, etc.) while meeting or exceeding penetration goals. Maintain and actively manage a loan pipeline to meet established service level agreements, ensuring a strong approval-to-funding ratio. Communicate proactively with members, underwriters, processors, and internal partners to ensure timely loan decisions and closings. Execute outbound calling strategies, including targeted campaigns and follow-up activities, to generate new business and deepen relationships. Demonstrate expertise in credit union systems, including application platforms, CRM tools, and member communication channels. Document all interactions and loan decisions thoroughly and accurately, providing recommendations to assist in underwriting. Provide exceptional member service by promptly responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and directing members to appropriate resources. Collaborate with teammates in a hybrid/remote environment to achieve individual and team performance goals. Participate in sales contests, campaigns, and initiatives to drive loan growth and product adoption. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of lending policies, procedures, and compliance requirements, including BSA/AML regulations. Provide support to the general phone queue or other service channels as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned. Positions directly supervised: None Requirements Specific knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position: Proven ability to exceed sales and lending goals in a high-volume environment. Strong understanding of consumer lending practices, credit analysis, and ancillary product offerings. Excellent consultative sales, negotiation, and objection-handling skills. Effective verbal, written, and digital communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and systems in a fast-paced environment. Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and a member-first mindset. Proficiency in computer systems, including Temenos, CRM tool Synapsis, and Microsoft Office Suite. Education: High-school diploma or equivalent Experience: Minimum 1-year consumer lending experience. Minimum 2 years Sales/Service experience in a Retail and/or Financial Institution environment. Note: Candidates being considered for employment must successfully complete a credit check, background check and drug screen.
