JOB SUMMARY:

The purpose of the Loan Officer Assistant is to provide essential support to a Mortgage Loan Officer throughout the loan application process, ensuring efficiency and excellent client service. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional customer service.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Regularly required to drive a motor vehicle, occasional air travel, attending meetings at various venues, including but not limited to customers’ offices and/or properties, restaurants and other meeting locations, and ascend/descend stairs and or ladders occasionally to perform inspections.
  • The employee may be required to lift files/materials up to twenty pounds to various locations.
  • The incumbent will be expected to operate a computer terminal.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in mortgage lending preferred. Strong customer service and administrative skills.
  • Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish
Responsibilities
  • Handle inbound and outbound client communication via phone and email, scheduling appointments, preparing correspondence and presentations, maintaining databases, and managing general office tasks like filing, photocopying, and scanning documents
  • Providing support in the intake and evaluation of loan applications, which includes collection, verification, and preparation of client documentation within established deadlines.
  • Ensuring loan paperwork is complete and accurate, maintaining loan files, and coordinating with underwriters, appraisers, real estate agents, and other relevant parties to facilitate smooth processing.
  • Serving as a point of contact for clients, providing updates on loan status, answering questions regarding policies and procedures, and offering support throughout the loan lifecycle.
  • Ensuring loan documentation complies with federal and state regulations and company guidelines.
  • Supporting Loan Officer with marketing activities, potentially including calling potential applicants, and following up with existing clients for future loan opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking clients to explain loan process, gather required documentation, and provide updates throughout the loan lifecycle.
