Description Position Summary: Loan Officers will be responsible for building and maintaining loan portfolios. Loans will meet established guidelines in compliance with bank policy. Loan Officers will process and perform loan servicing responsibilities for existing and prospective bank customers. They will also assist with monitoring loans and reporting loan conditions. Responsibilities: Promote and emulate SSB&T Core Values Provide excellent customer service according to our Core Values Call on prospective customers and accept credit applications Evaluate a potential borrower’s loan application, financial capacity, and creditworthiness Approve or deny loan requests within appropriate lending limit Prepare and present loans to appropriate approval authority if loan amount exceeds established lending limit or deviates from policy Professionally and effectively communicate between all departments and branches of the Bank Ensure closing of loans with customers and monitor the funding of an approved loan Maintain responsibility for loan files; manage a portfolio of consumer and commercial loans Support SSB&T community outreach and events Attend offsite meetings and training events; complete web-based training as required Inspect secured collateral and coordinate collection efforts and disposition of collateral if needed Assist branch opening, closing, and balancing duties Review all loan documentation for accuracy and collateral Manage draws for all construction loans Seek out new bank relationships; grow bank deposits Service commercial and retail customers including cross-selling additional services Actively promote loan and deposit products and services to current and potential customers Other duties as assigned Requirements Loan Officer Minimum 4 years banking experience required Bachelor’s Degree in finance or related field preferred, including accounting coursework Experience using all MS Office products Formal credit training preferred Ability to perform intermediate financial analysis under limited supervision Good oral and written communication skills AVP Loan Officer – all Loan Officer qualifications above plus: Minimum 6 years banking experience required Credit underwriting and lending experience required VP Loan Officer – all Loan Officer qualifications above plus: Minimum 8 years banking experience required Credit underwriting and lending experience required SVP Loan Officer – all Loan Officer qualifications above plus: Minimum 10 years banking experience required Credit underwriting and lending experience required
