JOB SUMMARY

MnCIFA is hiring! MnCIFA is a mission-driven “Green Bank” focused on impact investing with the paramount goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We are a new State Agency with the vibe of an entrepreneurial start-up. This job posting will be used to fill up to two (2) positions.
We offer a hybrid work environment with three (3) days per week in office and two (2) days of telework. Telework can be outside of the state of Minnesota if the candidate lives in a state bordering Minnesota and lives 50 miles or less from the primary work location. Our office is located in the Golden Rule Building in downtown St. Paul.

As Loan Origination Officer, you will manage all aspects of transactions, including soliciting, reviewing and processing proposed financing requests, facilitating project awards and bringing those requests to close. The Loan Origination Officer will also lead on-going portfolio management and monitoring of investments, and conducting outreach to and building partnerships with diverse stakeholders. Responsibilities include:

  • Business Development: Conduct outreach to and build partnerships with diverse stakeholders, including community groups, business associations, contractors or vendors, and project developers.
  • Project Implementation: Solicit, review, and process proposed project financing requests.
  • Loan Closing and Portfolio Administration: Facilitate project awards and loan closing and conduct on-going portfolio management and monitoring of investments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Three (3) years of experience performing analysis, exercising judgment, and relying on knowledge as a loan officer, loan originator, or in investment management, finance, or a closely related field.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Public Administration, or related field is equivalent to one (1) year of experience.
  • An Advanced degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Public Administration, or related field is equivalent to eighteen (18) months of experience.

Applicants who meet the above education/experience requirements will be further evaluated based on the following:

  • Experience in originating and executing transactions in project, infrastructure, and/or structured finance.
  • Experience in conducting outreach and building partnerships with diverse stakeholders, including community groups, business associations, contractors or vendors, and project developers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related field.
  • Commercial or community bank lending experience.
  • Experience with collaborative software solutions. (e.g. CRM, Loan Processing or Financial Software)
  • Thorough understanding of Federal and State tax credits and other incentives for clean energy investment.
  • Familiarity or experience with clean energy project finance or other financing related structuring and documentation.
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in environmental sustainability, environmental justice, climate action, and/or economic development.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, laptop computer, and portable printer.
