Overview of the Role To perform functions related to loan processing and loan servicing as well as support other functions within the Loan Operations Department. Requirements Loan Operations Assistant Responsibilities File and process all insurance and ancillary product claims. Maintain processes for all avenues of lien perfection. Manage all property tax maintenance and review functions. Process incoming loan related mail correspondence. Manage homeowners insurance and flood insurance logs, along with force placed policies. Serve as a vital communications' link to the branches (or members) on loan related issues. File loan documents internally and with appropriate agencies. Generate and prepare loan reports. Process adverse actions and mail all adverse actions generated. Serve as a back-up in coordinating Visa and other loan functions between the members, branches and loan operation department staff. Perform other related duties as assigned. Loan Operations Assistant Expectations To perform loan functions within the prescribed time frame. To keep all assigned general ledger accounts current and in balance daily. To provide support within and outside the department for loan products and services offered. To ensure accuracy with all related functions. To provide superior member service at all times, including displaying professional sales and service skills, proper phone etiquette, ensuring member confidentiality and going above-and-beyond to make the member experience at GPO of the highest quality. Loan Operations Assistant Qualifications Up to six months of similar or related experience. A high school education or GED. Must have good communication skills. Should be proficient in the use of computers, various software programs and calculators. Loan Operations Assistant Physical Demands Sitting for prolonged periods of time Frequent computer usage and screen time Frequent typing and usage of fine motor skills Financial Responsibilities To be responsible for safeguarding the credit union's assets by ensuring that policies and procedures are followed. Communication To keep the department supervisor informed regarding key department issues. To effectively communicate within the department to ensure the flow of ideas and information. Equipment Used Computing equipment, calculators and other data processing equipment. Work Environment Office environment, based in the administrative building. Actual compensation rate will be determined based on relevant experience.
