JOB SUMMARY:

The Loan Review Auditor II performs audit fieldwork and provides assessment of loan condition and quality independent of the lending function. This position assists in the creation and ongoing development of audit programs to assess compliance with policies and internal controls. The Loan Review Auditor II prepares audit work papers in adherence with the annual loan review plan, confers with the Manager, Loan Review regarding audit findings and assists with development of corrective action plans as needed. This position reports to the Manager, Loan Review and provides excellent service and support to team members and customers while demonstrating the Company’s values and supporting the mission.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or similar field preferred
  • 3 years of bank audit/examination/loan review experience preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other standard software applications
  • Prior experience with commercial and residential real estate data platforms (e.g., CoStar, Zonda) to support market analysis and risk monitoring
  • Familiar with large commercial real estate and construction and land development loans
  • Knowledge of loan underwriting concepts such as cash flow and financial statement analysis
  • Ability to develop loan review audit scopes and complete reviews with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including effective presentation skills
  • Ability to present audit findings to management and Board of Directors
  • Detail oriented
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

Responsibilities
  • Perform audit fieldwork and provide assessment of loan condition and quality independent of the lending function
  • Maintain knowledge of lending policy and procedure and identify deviation from policy
  • Participate in audit pre-planning meetings
  • Assist in the creation and ongoing development of audit programs to assess compliance with policies and internal controls
  • Adapt audit procedures as needed to comply with evolving credit risk trends, regulatory expectations, and internal policy updates
  • Prepare audit work papers that are properly documented, accurate, and completed in adherence with the annual loan review plan
  • Confer with Manager, Loan Review regarding audit findings and assist with development of corrective action plans as needed
  • Assist in the preparation of reports for the quarterly Board Finance and Audit Committee meetings
  • Assist in the development of the annual loan review audit risk assessment
  • Participate in policy revisions and audit planning cycles to confirm the review function remains aligned with strategic and operational changes
  • Utilize technology to streamline review process and reporting
  • Adhere to the standards of conduct outlined in the Bank’s Personnel Policy and the Institute of Internal Auditor’s Code of Ethics
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional associations
  • Adhere to compliance with all federal bank regulations and laws, including those for consumer protection and the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Program
  • Attend training as requested
  • Perform other duties as assigned
