REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATION

Education/Experience:

  • Engineer or business degree
  • +5 years’ experience in procurement (Indirects, Category Management etc.)
  • Proven experience of building solid partnerships with external service providers

Technical Skills & Competencies / Language

  • Proficient in German and English (Business Level), other language appreciated
  • Strong process knowledge with ability to improve processes to support Business needs

Responsibilities

Working closely with the Head of indirect spend and CFO Germany, performance delivered by the procurement department will have a direct impact on the profitability and sustainability of the company.
The site procurement buyer will be a key interface to consider internal business requirements as well as a strong relay to implement procurement strategies, also lead some global procurement projects across the group.

In this position, the person will contribute to the strategic and operational sourcing activities, with impact on the following:

  • Be responsible for managing indirect purchasing needs on site
  • coordinating with the global category managers/buyers to ensure the strategy implementation, cost efficiency, risk mitigation

Strategic Activities:

  • Participate to the definition and implementation of sourcing strategies
  • Develop and implement robust internal Business Partnerships with engagement plans
  • Lead Stakeholders management to ensure business needs are properly and timely met
  • Negotiate and optimize contracts to generate savings and monitor supplier’s performance
  • Manage the Supplier Relationship Management process with the key strategic and preferred partners, and establish risk mitigation plans whenever necessary underpinned by the supplier’s assessment / scorecards results
  • Develop, enhance, and monitor supplier relationship performance through regular supplier business and performance reviews with the support of key stakeholders, service owners & contract managers

Operational activities:

  • Guarantee the “Source-to-Contract” process compliance
  • Ensure the operational sourcing & action plan follow up for his/her procurement activities
  • Lead RFx processes, negotiations and support contract development with global suppliers
  • Partner closely with Legal, Compliance, Internal Control and Finance teams towards successful completion of complex global scale negotiations

Demand Management

  • Elaboration of a demand plan aligned with the Business and category strategies
  • Build a solid project and savings pipeline during budget cycle and maintain it throughout the year
  • Constructively challenge the demand and shape it in a way that would deliver the most value for our businesses

  • Develop and educate internal clients on best-in-class procurement and sourcing processes
