ABOUT THE ROLE:

At PwC, we’re proud to have the UK’s largest Local Public Services consultancy team. From councils and housing associations to charities and devolved governments, we work at the heart of public services supporting clients to deliver better outcomes, stronger partnerships, and long-term financial sustainability.
As demand for our expertise grows, we’re expanding our team across the next six months – including recruiting for Senior Managers to lead work across procurement, cost reduction, and commercial transformation.
About the role
This is a leadership role in our local public services team. You’ll help local public service organisations rethink the way they manage external spend, suppliers, and commercial operations with a focus on delivering measurable savings and long-term change.
You’ll work closely with senior client stakeholders and PwC Partners and Directors to shape strategies, deliver projects, and build capability within both your client teams and our growing consulting team.
If you’re passionate about helping public services thrive, and ready to lead high-impact work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.
You will also be able to show how you’ve personally led change that delivered tangible financial and non-financial benefits especially through improved procurement or commercial practices

This role is for you if:

  • You have extensive experience in the public sector or consulting, with a focus on procurement, supply chain, cost reduction, and transformation.
  • Understanding of public sector procurement regulations (including Procurement Act 2023, and prior frameworks such as PCR/UCR).
  • Proven ability to deliver successful, complex projects with high financial and strategic value.
  • Strong leadership and people development skills including leading teams and supporting junior colleagues.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to work with senior decision-makers, convey the value of procurement and sourcing approaches and lead negotiations with suppliers.
  • Confidence with tools used in public sector procurement (e.g. source-to-pay platforms, data analytics tools).
  • The flexibility to travel as needed to support our clients
