Job Title: Locum Podiatrist Banding: Band 6 Location: Chelmsford / Braintree / Maldon – Essex Start Date: ASAP Duration: 4 Weeks Initially (with potential to extend) Hourly Rate: £25-27 Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:15–16:15 (negotiable start times) Job Overview Pulse is currently seeking an experienced and proactive Band 6 Podiatrist to join a high-risk podiatry service operating across three sites in Essex: Springfield Green (Chelmsford), Braintree Community Hospital, and St Peter’s Hospital (Maldon). This role requires a car owner/driver due to multi-site working. You will be responsible for delivering specialist podiatric care to patients with complex needs, including diabetes, vascular disease, and wound management. The successful candidate will be confident in assessing and treating urgent new patients and navigating diabetic foot pathways. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will: Provide high-risk podiatry care, including wound assessment, infection detection, offloading, and specialist dressing selection. Perform manual ABPI, Toe Pressure, and Blue Dop assessments (optional). Assess and treat urgent new patients, particularly those with diabetic foot complications. Deliver podiatric care to patients with a range of conditions including: Diabetes Vascular disease Rheumatological disease Neurological disorders Wound management Carry out nail surgery procedures as required. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes. Qualifications and Experience To be considered for this role, you must: Be HCPC registered as a Podiatrist. Have proven experience in high-risk podiatry settings. Be confident in wound care and diabetic foot management. Be proficient in relevant clinical assessments (ABPI, Toe Pressure, etc.). Be a car owner/driver due to multi-site responsibilities.
