UPMC Western Maryland is actively searching for a Locum General Cardiologist. SHIFT/SCHEDULE INFORMATION *Mon - Fri | 7a - 330p | Hospital *Call Schedule | 330p - 8p | On Days the Provider is Working in the Hospital JOB INFORMATION *Hospital Setting | Level III *Typical Day: Inpatient Cardiology - Rounds with their APP provider that is assigned to inpatients with them at 730-745. Patient load varies, typical day is seeing 7-10 inpatients, APP can assist as needed. Covers inpatient TEEs, reads EKGs and Echoes. *AVG Inpatient Census: 7-9 New Patient Consults | Dedicated APP Sees the Follow Up Patients *Procedures: TEE (transesophageal echocardiograms) and Cardioversions *Provider May Read Echos for Inpatient *Provider Will Work Solo *Other Specialties Onsite: Interventional Cardiology; Thoracic Surgery; Neurosurgery; Neurology; Oncology *APP/Mid-Level Coverage is Available *Privileges Available: Full *EMR: Meditech CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS *Active Maryland License or IMLC in hand *DEA Required: Yes | Can Apply for State DEA *Board Status: Board Certified *Required Certifications: BLS *Preferred Certifications: TEE *Minimum Years Experience (if applicable): 1

Responsibilities

The Locum General Cardiologist will manage inpatient cardiology, including rounds with an assigned APP provider, seeing an average of 7-10 inpatients daily, and covering inpatient TEEs. Responsibilities also include reading EKGs and Echoes, and performing procedures like TEEs and Cardioversions while working solo.
