This is a full - time (approx. 10 PA) fixed term post for 12 months as a consultant ophthalmologist to set up a high - volume cataract service.
The post holder will work with the friendly enthusiastic general and sub speciality services for Bristol and surrounding areas (circa 1 million) and tertiary referral specialist services for Bristol the wider Southwest region. his role will support the delivery of a high-volume cataract service, with a mix of clinic and theatre sessions that support high patient through-put to the service. The post holder will have clinical sessions at both the Bristol Eye Hospital and South Bristol Community Hospital .
§ The cataract service is split across South Bristol Community Hospital and BEH, with high-volume cataract clinics and lists being developed across both sites.
§ This role will support high-flow clinics and theatres, leading the service at SBCH.
§ This role will support the continued development and improvement of a high-volume cataract service with support from the management team.
§ This role will support the training of Ophthalmic Specialist Trainees.
