We have an opportunity for one locum consultant in Colorectal Surgery at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) with an interest in benign colorectal surgery. The successful applicant will be working with colorectal consultants already specialising in areas including but not limited to pelvic floor, abdominal wall hernia and ambulatory benign colorectal surgery, as well as colleagues within the multidisciplinary team. They will take part in the general surgical on call rota.
There is a strong team approach to the care of patients and the clinical timetable is written to take into consideration on-call commitments and the overall annualised team-based job plan. This is designed to facilitate opportunities for joint consultant operating and to deal with variations in urgent workloads
The post holders will be expected to provide complex colorectal surgery.
The successful candidates will be expected to have undergone appropriate training in Colorectal surgery and colonoscopy.
