As part of the departments commitment to continuous improvement, the Consultant will engage in audit, research, teaching and clinical governance, supporting the refinement of neurosurgical pathways and contributing to the overall quality and sustainability of the service. Maintaining GMC specialist registration and active professional development will be essential in delivering a high standard of practice aligned with Trust and national expectations. Knowledge for the accurate diagnosis and treatment of neurosurgical conditions, with specialist interest in Cranial Neuro-vascular.

• Commitment to support long established Interventional Neuroradiology service. *Commitment to teamwork and supporting Neurovascular Specialist nurses. *Commitment to chairing the weekly Neurovascular MDT. *Knowledge of neurosurgical patient pathways to support appropriate and timely emergency and elective care.
• Extensive experience of pre- and post-operative care of neurosurgical patients. *Excellent communication skills for speaking to patients, families and carers; medical, nursing and allied health professional colleagues, support teams and a wide range of other parties in a healthcare setting. *Ability to adapt to a changing environment as healthcare evolves *Commitment to and enthusiasm for learning new skills and techniques and supporting their introduction into the neurosurgical department. *Leadership skills to manage your team and support trainees.
