Description:

Applications are invited for a 10 PA Locum Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to cover maternity leave.
This post offers an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, to work within an established team of 32 Consultants at the Trust.
The role is cross-site across the 2 sites of Epsom and St Helier Hospitals. The on-call commitments for obstetrics will be at the Epsom site with a 1:3 cover.
The role is multi-site for all activities, except acute obstetric on-calls which will be based at Epsom General Hospital, although there will also be requirements to work at St Helier Hospital. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the supporting colposcopy, TWR clinics and acute gynaecology cover. In addition, they will provide consultant led Labour Ward.
Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is a large 768 bed acute Trust serving South West London and Surrey. It comprises one acute hospital in Carshalton and a District General Hospital in Epsom, a dedicated children’s hospital, Elective Orthopaedic Centre and a private patient unit and provides services from a number of support hospitals.
St George’s, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals and Health Group cares for a population of four million people in South West London and North East Surrey. Our sites include St George’s Hospital, one of 11 major trauma centres in the UK and the largest healthcare provider and major teaching hospital in the area; St Helier Hospital, home to the South West Thames Renal and Transplantation Unit and Queen Mary’s Hospital for Children; and Epsom Hospital, home to the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC).
After years of collaboration, our two Trusts became a hospitals group in 2021. While remaining as two separate Trusts, being a hospitals group will help us to collaborate more closely on research, and the development, education, and training of our 17,000-strong workforce.
