We are excited to be adding to our team and are currently seeking to recruiting a Locum Consultant for a 12 month fixed term post to support with our Cataract and General Ophthalmology.
Hours and timescales are negotiable.
We will be advertising the post on a permanent basis to support with our increase cataract suite capacity however if a locum is something you would consider in the interim please get in touch.
This role is that of a General Ophthalmologist, with a special interest in cataract surgery. This is to allow expansion of a dynamic team of 6 existing consultant colleagues and to support a growing workload.
The post would also suit candidates with sub-specialty experience in an area complementing the existing department. This post is aimed at individuals who are also able to undertake a wide range of general ophthalmic duties, and who are able to fit into a team delivering a broad range of both general and sub-specialist ophthalmic care. A high level of competence in cataract surgery is essential.
The Consultant is in overall charge of patients and will allocate duties and responsibilities depending on the experience of his or her team.
The appointed Consultant Ophthalmologist will work in both general and specialist clinics and see new and follow up patients.
The appointed Consultant Ophthalmologist will be expected to have a special interest that will complement the existing team and will integrate into the present structure.
