Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic doctor to join our service to cover a maternity leave for 12 months.
The post holder will be RC to about 10 patients. The patients are predominantly on a forensic rehabilitation ward.
Most patients are admitted from other wards within the service in a planned way so are known to the service.
The post holder will work with a multidisciplinary team, including a resident doctor, and will provide leadership to the team.
Candidates must have full GMC registration and significant experience in forensic psychiatry (preferably) or general adult psychiatry.
The post holder will have responsibility to provide input into the care, treatment and risk management for patients under their care. This will include agreeing care pathways, organising admission and safe discharge planning.
The post holder will be responsible for the development of appropriate treatment plans and promoting rehabilitation and recovery. This will include on-going assessment, diagnoses (including review and clarification) and treatment of mental and physical health needs.
The risk assessment and risk management of the inpatients will be a core part of the job.
The post holder will provide active care pathway planning and will liaise carefully with other agencies responsible for delivering those plans including local authority personnel, independent sector services and service users and carers.
