The post-holder will participate fully in all elements of the general surgical service, which is organised into the provision of emergency surgical and elective work. The post holder will provide emergency general surgery and be involved in the one in twelve on-call rota, supported by junior medical staff and HENE NTN trainee general surgeons. The post will be offered for 10 PAs under the Terms and Conditions of Service for Consultants (England). Candidates should be fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice and on the Specialist Register (or within 6 months of obtaining their CCST).
Although the post is tenable on a whole time basis, any applicant who, for personal reasons, is unable to work full-time, will be eligible to be considered for the post. Additional PA’s will be allocated following job plan review and agreed between candidate and employer. This appointment is subject to an Enhanced Level Criminal Records Bureau check
