Job Title: Locum Audiologist / Hearing Aid Dispenser (NHS Aftercare) Reporting to: Regional Manager Day Rate: Circa £275 per day + mileage Location: Dorset Days: Weekdays only – no evenings or weekends Summary We are seeking an HCPC-registered Audiologist or Hearing Aid Dispenser to support our NHS aftercare service on a locum basis. This role is primarily focused on post-fit patient care rather than diagnostic testing, delivering high-quality aftercare to adult patients in their own homes. You will support patients with hearing aid reviews, adjustments, repairs, and ongoing care, ensuring excellent clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction. Full support is provided, including 1 day of paid training at Head Office covering equipment, systems, and kit issue before starting. Responsibilities Deliver hearing aid aftercare appointments to adult patients in their homes. Carry out hearing aid reviews, fine-tuning, troubleshooting, and repairs. Provide patient education, reassurance, and ongoing hearing support. Take aural impressions where required. Use Real Ear Measurement equipment when clinically appropriate. Maintain accurate clinical records using digital systems. Follow infection control and equipment maintenance protocols. Provide wax removal where required (training available). Requirements Current HCPC registration as an Audiologist or Hearing Aid Dispenser. Experience delivering NHS aftercare and hearing aid support. Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle (essential for domiciliary visits). Confident working independently and managing a daily caseload of 4–5 patients. Strong communication and patient-care skills. Comfortable using clinical equipment and digital record systems.
